Hall of Fame Weekend

Friday, July 27


8 a.m. to 9 p.m. - Hall of Fame and Museum Hours - The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for your enjoyment. Members may enter the museum at 7 a.m. If you have any questions about your visit, call 1-888- HALL-OF-FAME, or purchase our colorful new Museum Guide before your visit to help you experience the museum.

8:30 a.m. - PLAY Ball with Ozzie Smith and Special Guests, Doubleday Field. It's the Players, Legends And You in Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith's annual fun on the field to raise funds for the museum's education programs. Join the Wizard and his special guests, Hall of Famers Ryne Sandberg, George Brett, Brooks Robinson and Earl Weaver, for two hours of non-stop interaction. Each participant receives time on the field with the renowned players, as well as mementos of the occasion. Event pricing is $1,000 for non-members, $750 for members, and those booking two or more participants will receive a 10 percent discount. Space is limited. Reserve your spot beginning Monday, May 14 by calling the membership department at (607) 547-0397.

1:30 p.m. - Legends for Youth Skills Clinic, Doubleday Field. The fourth annual Legends for Youth Skills Clinic will be held this year on the Friday of Induction Weekend. Children can spend the afternoon enhancing their baseball skills with former major leaguers on historic Doubleday Field. The 2007 Legends for Youth Skills Clinic is open to children ages five through 12 and pre-registration is required. Members may register, beginning Monday, May 14, by calling the membership department at (607) 547-0397. Any available spots will open to the general public on Monday, July 16. This event is free of charge, but space is limited. Sponsored by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York and TGI Friday's. Saturday, July 28 Hall of Fame and Museum Hours - The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for your enjoyment. Members may enter the museum at 7 a.m. Be sure to grab a spot on Main Street outside the museum to watch the Red Carpet show. Fans begin to gather around 6 p.m. for the festivities that begin at 7:30 p.m. including trivia, prizes and performances by the Cooperstown Community Band. Please note, Hall of Famers will begin to arrive between 9 and 9:30 p.m. If you have any questions about your visit, call 1-888- HALL-OF-FAME.

9 a.m. - Book Signing with Tim Kurkjian, Cooper Park. Tim Kurkjian visits the Hall of Fame to participate in a signing for his new book, "Is This a Great Game, Or What?: From A-Rod's Heart to Zim's Head-My 25 Years in Baseball." Kurkjian, ESPN's MLB analyst, appears on Baseball Tonight and is a senior writer for ESPN the Magazine. Please note, there is a limit of three books signed per person.

2 p.m. - New York-Penn League Game, Doubleday Field. The annual New York- Penn League game featuring the Oneonta Tigers and Aberdeen IronBirds entertains fans at Doubleday Field. This game is free and open to the public. Special thanks to Coca-Cola and Key Bank for their financial support.

3 p.m. - Connecting Generations (event is sold out), Clark Sports Center. The popular Connecting Generations returns for 2007. This program allows visitors to compete in a fun trivia contest with Hall of Famers Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Duke Snider and Robin Yount. Afterward, selected fans may ask questions of the Hall of Famers on stage. Note: this event has been sold out.

7:30 p.m. - Red Carpet Arrivals, Main Street. Join the pageantry and excitement of the red carpet arrivals at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Enjoy the musical entertainment provided by the Cooperstown Community Band, participate in trivia contests, be entertained by Casey At The Bat, and most exciting of all, watch as the Hall of Famers arrive on trolleys and participate in red carpet interviews on the way into their private reception. Please note: Fans being to gather around 6 p.m. with festivities starting at 7:30 p.m. Hall of Famers will begin to arrive between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

9 a.m. - Book Signing with George Will, Cooper Park. Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist George Will signs copies of his number one best-selling book "Men at Work: The Craft of Baseball." The book extensively features 2007 inductees Cal Ripken, Jr., and Tony Gwynn. Will's column is syndicated in more than 450 newspapers. He also writes for Newsweek and appears as a political commentator on ABC. Note: there is a limit of three books signed per person.

1:30 p.m. - Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Clark Sports Center. Open to the public and free of charge, the 2007 Induction Ceremony honors Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr. The ceremony also recognizes Ford C. Frick Award winner Denny Matthews and J.G. Taylor Spink Award winner Rick Hummel. Weather permitting, the ceremony takes place on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, located on lower Susquehanna Avenue. Monday, July 30 Hall of Fame and Museum Hours - The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for you enjoyment. Members may enter the museum at 8 a.m.

10:30 a.m. - Legends Event (members only, ticket required), Clark Sports Center. The Hall of Fame's newest members, Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr., participate in a televised ESPN Legends Event. This event is for members only. Call) 547-0397.
