Tragically, a runner from Whitesboro, 23-year-old Sean O’Neill, died after collapsing midway through the race, which is billed as America’s largest road race. O’Neill was the second runner to die during the race in the last four years.

Included among the list of finishers were many local runners, including Mike Rutledge, a former Milford resident who finished 72nd overall with a time of 51 minutes and 55 seconds. Rutledge was the male age group winner among men age 35-39.

Kane Seamon, a former track and cross country star at Richfield Springs, placed 210th overall with a time of 56 minutes and 55 seconds.

Both Bassett Hospital president Bill Streck (1:11.14, 1,555th) and Otsego County Supreme Court Judge Michael Coccoma (1:07.04, 957th) completed the race as well.
