CV-S holds athletic banquet

Cherry Valley-Springfield Central held its 2007 Spring Sports Awards and end of the year banquet on Friday night at the school.

The spring season was an especially successful one, with both the boys and girls track teams, and the golf team winning sectional titles. In addition, the CV-S baseball team won its fourth straight Tri- Valley division crown, and second straight Tri-Valley Championship. Following is a list of award winners.

Golf (coach Drugutz):

Most Improved Player, Jake Hanlon;

MVP, Chip Taylor; Will to Win, Don Corns.

Boys Varsity Track and Field (coaches Jaquay and Davis):

MVP Field, Scott VanDer- Krake; MVP Track, Tom Shukis;

Coaches Award, Brian Sutton, Will to Win, Jason Guernsey;

Most Improved, Robby Schafsteck.

Girls Varsity Track and Field (coaches Jaquay and Davis):

MVP Field, Addy Schneider; MVP Track, Heather Titus;

Coaches Award, Laura Kroon, Will to Win, Marna Taylor;

Most Improved, Jenny Bowen.

Boys Varsity Baseball (coach Dubben):

Most Improved Player, Ben Halay; MVP, Stephen Herringshaw;

Coach's Award, Shawn Sheldon; Will to Win, Jeremy Hoag;

Highest Batting Average, Anthony Brant.

Girls Varsity Softball (coach Whiteman):

Most Improved Player, Brittany Mabie;

Coach's Award, Michelle Natali; Will to Win, Bethanie Mabie;

Best Defensive Player, Morgan VanAlstine;

Best Offensive Player, Savannah Crowley.
