Music and art scholarships available
The CCS Friends of Music and Art (FOMA) have announced
the availability of summer camp scholarships for students who
will be in grades six through 12 in the 2007-2008 school year.
Recipients of scholarships are each eligible for up to $200 to off
set the costs of a summer arts program.
In previous years, scholarship recipients have attended a
myriad of programs including those in fine art, drawing, painting,
and pottery, as well as writing workshops, dance programs,
and music seminars for instruction in voice and instrument.
FOMA is a non-profit organization that serves as a booster
club for the arts and arts education in the school.
Founded in 1993, it has provided thousands of dollars and
countless volunteer hours in support of creative and fine arts,
organizers said.
Each fall, generally at the October meeting of FOMA, the
scholarship recipients present a brief program on their summer
experience.
Applications are available at the school. The deadline for applying
is June 1. For more information on the program, call
FOMA president, Ellen Tillapaugh, at 547-5646.
