Curcio achieves perfection again
Staff Report
One could be considered a fluke, but two is proof of bonafide skill.
Joe Curcio, Jr. rolled a perfect game on his way to a league-leading 707 series during the Wednesday night Semi Classic bowling league at the Clark Sports Center Feb. 28.
It was Curcio’s second career perfect game. He also bowled games of 192 and 215.
Besides the Cooperstown league, Curcio bowls in two leagues in Oneonta, but has never rolled a perfect game at Holiday Lanes.
``My average is higher in Oneonta, but my perfect games were both in Cooperstown,’’ Curcio, a 1998 Cooperstown graduate, said.
Curcio’s string of 12 consecutive strikes stopped in the first frame of the second game. Curcio, who has a 208 average in Cooperstown and 215 average in Oneonta, said he has 12 or 13 700 series since September.
