Crowley honored at sports banquet

The Milford Booster Club's Athletic Banquet was held last week, honoring another solid season for the school's sports teams.

The highlight of the night was a surprise dedication of the banquet to boys basketball coach Bill Crowley, who coached the team for 16 years before retiring at the end of last season.

"I was touched," Crowley said. "My family was there, and some of my former players. It was a special night."

Milford athletic director Lorin Campbell said the school wanted to thank Crowley for 16 years of dedicated service.

"He did a great job here, and I thought the night went really well," Campbell said. "He'll be missed."

Crowley had especially kind words for senior Patrick Kelly, who played four years for Crowley.

"Patrick is a super player and a super kid," Crowley said. "The great thing about him is that he came to practice every day and played hard. I've had a lot of good players, but they didn't all practice hard. Patrick always did."
