Cooperstown Central School district residents will have a chance to ask questions or make comments about the 2007-2008 budget at a work session Wednesday evening.
The budget work session will start at 5:30 p.m. in the middle/high school cafeteria.
CCS superintendent Mary Jo McPhail said current projections call for a 4.99 percent - $752,754 - increase in spending and an estimated average tax levy increase of 3.35 percent.
The proposed spending plan would total $15,836,563, up from the current year's budget of $15,083,809.
McPhail said several items still needed board consideration and would likely result in changes being made to the spending proposal.
"The public is encouraged to attend the work session as the board is interested in their input," McPhail said.
A second budget presentation will be made at the board's meeting Wednesday, March 21.
The board will adopt a proposed spending plan for 2007-08 on April 4. The budget vote, board of education election and capital project vote will be held Tuesday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sterling Auditorium.
