CCS’s `Parent Portal’ meeting is tonight
Staff Report
A presentation about the PowerSchool "Parent Portal" being implemented at Cooperstown Central School has been rescheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. in the middle/high school’s Sterling Auditorium.
PowerSchool is an information management system used to track and organize a student’s grades, attendance and scheduling. The Parent Portal is one aspect of the software which allows parents to access their child’s test scores, homework grades and attendance via the district’s website.
Access is restricted to authorized staff and parents or guardians who have enrolled in the program and received a secure login name and password. Parents or guardians will have the opportunity to enroll in the program at tonight’s meeting or can sign up in the school during regular business hours provided they bring a photo ID.
The portal is accessed through a link on the school’s website at www.cooperstowncs.org.
Grades and attendance will be available for middle and high school students only for now.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Feb. 15, but was cancelled because of the snowstorm that dropped more than 30 inches of snow on the area. The school was closed last week because of winter break.
