Winter Carnival Committee releases contest results and raffle winners

The following community members and businesses are the winners of the 2007 Cooperstown Winter Carnival contests:

Royal Court: Carnival King - Ben Smith; Carnival Queen - Andrianna Lyons.

"Who Let the Dogs Out" Carnival Parade: 1st _ Girl Scouts; 2nd _ CFD Explorers; 3rd _ CROP Program.

"Hair of the Dog" Carnival Cooler Drink Contest: Judges' Choice _ Hoffman Lane Bistro with "Toasty D.O.G"; Audience Choice _ Cooley's Stone House Tavern with "St. Bernard Secret."

Snow Sculpture: Adult _ Eileen Murphy and Tom Chase for Nipper, the RCA Victor Dog; Kids _ Julian Miller and Nick Stearns for a bulldog; Group _ Cooperstown Ecumenical Youth Group (CEYG) for a dog and dog house.

Hot Dog Eating Contest: Youth _ Jim Fort and RJ Alton (tie), five hot dogs in three minutes; Adult _ Evan Johnson, six hot dogs in three minutes.

Chocolate Lovers Contest: Youth _ John Stewart; Adult _ Rebecca Young; Business _ Nicoletta's Italian Cafe.

Veteran's Club Pitch Tournament: 1st _ Scott and Brent Murdock; 2nd _ Reid Nagelschmidt and Mike Pugliese; 3rd _ Scott Whiteman and Pappy Coleman; 4th _ Mike Boyson and Tom Williams.

Wings Contest: Adult _ Phil Meeker; Business _ O'Hanlans Steakhouse.

Cheesecake Tasting Contest at the Cooperstown Methodist Church, sponsored by the Cooperstown Bed & Breakfast: 1st _ Leslie Breiten; 2nd _ Sandy Dunn of the Cooperstown Diner; 3rd _ Otesaga Resort Hotel.
