Group posts signs

CHERRY VALLEY - The Advocates for Cherry Valley are working to get the word out about their opposition to a wind turbine farm.
Approximately 100 "No wind turbines" signs have been put up recently, according to Andrew Minnig, a long-time member of the group.
Many are in the East Hill area which is one of the two sites targeted for turbines. Reunion Power which wants to develop the wind farm currently has a meteorological tower up on the hill taking wind measurements.
Minnig said the signs are, in part, a response to comments they have received from people who thought the wind farm plan had been abandoned in Cherry Valley after Global Winds Harvest pulled out. Reunion Power acquired Global Winds Harvest's interest and is moving ahead with the project.
"We're still coming across people who are unaware it is still an issue in the town," Minnig said.
He added that the group is happy with the response they have received from the signs and have recruited new members since putting them up.
