Concert tickets on sale June 26

By JIM AUSTIN

Tickets for the Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson concert August 6 at Doubleday Field will go on sale next Saturday, June 26, at 8 a.m., according to Don Sullivan, of JAM Producitons, the show's promoter.

Sullivan said Tuesday that although there are few details remaining to be resolved, the 22-stop tour of minor league baseball stadiums has been confirmed.

"We're going to come," he said Monday afternoon.

The promoter, he said, is moving forward in good faith in the belief all the details will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

Trustee and deputy mayor Lee Malone, who was appointed by mayor Carol Waller to represent the village in contract negotiations, said things were moving right along.

Sullivan sent a generic contract and the village is now filling in all the blanks. "We have to adopt it to our needs," she said.

But as far as the village is concerned, the concert is a go, she said.

On June 26, tickets will go on sale over the internet at www.ticketmaster.com and at the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce.

The Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce will have 6,000 tickets to sell.

There will be three ways to purchase tickets from the chamber, said director Polly Renckens.

• At the chamber office where they will accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards. There will be express lines for cash, money orders and cashier checks. No personal checks will be accepted. The chamber will continue to sell tickets at the office daily from 9-5 until sold out.

• At the chamber's website: Starting Saturday, June 26, at 8 a.m. log on to www.cooperstownchamber.org where purchasers must pay by credit card and tickets will be mailed within five business days.

• By phone: Starting Sunday, June 27, call 547-8710 and purchase tickets with a credit card. Tickets will be mailed within five business days.

The ticket price has been set at $45 with a $3 handling charge, Sullivan said. Indidivuals may purchase up to 20 tickets each.

Dylan and Nelson will present a concert of blues, folk, rock and jazz along with an opening act, The Hot Club of Cowtown, which Sullivan characterized as a three-piece country swing band.

"It should be fun evening," he said.
