Fame game moves to June

Staff Report

This year's Hall of Fame game will not be one of the highlights of the traditional three-day induction weekend activities.

Instead, teams will meet at Doubleday Field in June for the annual game.

Hall of Fame spokesperson Jeff Idelson said Monday that a formal announcement about the game will be forthcoming as soon as plans are finalized.

In recent years scheduling the game has become more difficult with the advent of inter-league games between the National and American Leagues.

A recent agreement between the players association and Major League Baseball has put an end to all in-season exhibition games with the exception of the Hall of Fame Game.
